| Elizabethanne Kim Posts: 24 | July Workshop Summary The July meeting of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Chapter was attended by approximately fifteen people and was held in the form of a “swap shop” in which attendees traded ideas with one another. Six members presented tips and games ranging from vocabulary and grammar games to presentation preparation and the use of pop songs in class. Two games involved vocabulary repetition and classroom action through tossing a ball or finding objects. One game involved giving six clues to guess an object. If students guess after the first clue, they get six points, after the second clues, five points, etc. One presentation involved the demonstration of developing and giving a collaborative presentation. Another presentation used a series of news articles dated in the future to practice the future tenses, and a final presentation showed the benefits of using pop songs in the classroom. The workshop was followed by the chapter’s biannual dinner held at a local Korean restaurant. |
