Hotels and Motels Near the Venue

Please find below a list of hotels and motels, their contact information, location, approx. prices, and proximity to Sookmyung Women's University (SMU). 

Please note that KOTESOL does not endorse these establishments, but have heard over the years that these establishments have met our guests' requirements/expectations.

If you prefer alternative accomodation please refer to the additional links below where you will find several Web sites that will provide you with a wide range of hotels throughout the Seoul area.

From Itaewon it will take about 15-30 minutes by taxi and cost about w5,000-w10,000 from the hotels to the conference site. Alternatively, it will take about 20-30 minutes by subway and walk and cost w1,000. Subway stops in the vicinity include Line 6. From Insadong it will take about 15-30 minutes by taxi and cost about w5,000-w10,000 from the hotels to the conference site. Alternatively, it will take about 20-30 minutes by subway and walk and cost w900. Subway stops in the vicinity include virtual Jonggak Line 1, Gwanghwamun Line 5, and Anguk Line 3. Attendees, the following hotel information is supplied apart from the chart below for the reasons that there are special considerations to take it (reservation method, detailed costs, et cetera). 

Somerset Palace:  A few rooms have been pre-booked at 140,000 + tax + services, including breakfast. These are one bedroom executive suites, not their standard studio room. Please contact Louisa Lau-Kim directly for reservations (louisakim_KOTESOL@yahoo.com). 

Lotte City Hotel Mapo: brand new and opened earlier this year in March.  A Double runs 110,000won + 10% VAT, excluding breakfast.  Overseas attendees do not pay tax, so it'll just be 110,000 + 10% SVC.  Breakfast can be had for 13,500 won + tax IF requested at time of reservation (or 15,000won + tax for on-site payment). *Foreign guests are exempt from the 10% VAT surcharge.

Both of these are on the first come first serve basis.  Only so many rooms are blocked because October is a high season for hotels here in Korea.  If attendees want to take advantage of these specials rates, they should act on it quickly.
 

The deadline for reserving with the hotels above is 15th October.
